Candy Tuesday Delay

// September 9th, 2008 // No Comments » // Candy Addiction

I’ve had to move to new place and I don’t have my equipment or anything set up. Once I set everything up, I will try my best to post the Candy Video Review later this week! In the meantime, why can’t people STOP stealing from the candy store?

Top Candy Jewelry

candy necklaceOk, I was asked to review some good candy necklaces but there aren’t too many different types.

The original candy necklace is typically made with small tart candy with a retractable elastic string. These are fun to wear and eat at the same time. Warning, I learned as a teen, not to wear them when its extremely hot outside, because they do actually melt and get sticky around the neck :)

You can buy candy necklaces at any candy store around in the mall and they are relatively cheap $0.99 per one necklace and if you want a container of candy necklaces about 72 pieces (great for retro parties) it runs around $30.00.  Although, many people have fun making their own candy necklaces because it is really EASY.

Candy Break Updated

// May 19th, 2008 // No Comments » // Candy Addiction

After giving it a lot of thought,  I decide to give my candy break a change of idea. Instead of going completely cold turkey, I’ve decided to eat candy once a week and my day is Tuesdays. So I will attempt to buy different candy and test it, then report back on the blog. Last week was the first week and I was happy to eat any candy so nothing new to show you.

Candy or Apple?

// April 15th, 2008 // No Comments » // Candy Addiction

Well several reasons why right now I need to change from eating candy to an apple.

MY TOOTH IS ACHING… DAMNIT

sugar free candyI should make “the switch”, however I’m allergic to apples because of the citric acid. Unless it is cooked with LOTS of sugar I can eat it without my tongue itching.

BUT.. I should try to calm down a little bit with the sweets. I plan on going on a little candy break. Every year I take time to get away from eating candy so that I can break down my high level of eating. Last year I went 2 months without eating candy. This Spring, I’ll just let it ride without setting a date (probably not very intelligent).

What are my candy subsitutes?

  • Sugarless gum
  • Fruit (all that I’m NOT allergic to)
  • More juice
  • Nuts

As a candy addict, I know it will be hard the first week and a half but I can do it. I will still review candy so, come back and read up on my candy diet :)

Best Rock Candy Flavors

// February 10th, 2008 // 1 Comment » // Candy Addiction

crystal rock candyI use to love buy rock candy and even making rock candy as a kid. I actually have not bought any in so many years. But my favorite crystal rock candy flavor was blue which tasted a bit like blueberry to say the least. The only thing that I don’t enjoy to much about eating rock candy is that at times I cut my gums. That is so annoying but good thing they aren’t made so big.

My first experiment in making rock candy went ok as a kid. However, it wasn’t so rock hard I admit and very chewy. As a kid anything sweet is great so I ate it without problems. The key to rock candy recipes is food coloring, lots of sugar, good oven that doesn’t overheat, good mixing bowls, timer and lots of patience (which I lack) :)

Here are the basic ingredients that you’ll need. (more…)
