Recycled Halloween Candy Sculpture

Now this is pretty neat and not exactly throwing away candy but creating a sculpture out of recycled candy from Halloween! This big candy sculpture is made from more than 3,000 pieces of unwanted Halloween candy, “found art” artist Leo Sewell of Philadelphia created a one-of-a-kind rocket ship sculpture.  The candy was donated by visitors to the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif. in exchange for Nestle Crunch bars.

Commissioned by Nestle Crunch, Sewell spent four days creating the sculpture revealed last week and on display at The Tech Museum through this weekend.

I would love to see a recycled Christmas Candy sculpture that large! Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? Time flies!!

Unique 4th of July Candy

I hope everyone had a nice and safe 4th of July celebration yesterday! Mine was great! I was looking at different types of unique candy for Independence Day but there was nothing out there that really struck me, until I found these Red, White and Blue Strawberries dipped in white candy melts, with blue sugar to tip it off!

This is a wonderful example of unique use of colors, fruit and candy!

Chocolate Keyboard Candy

Being that I’m on my Apple or Dell laptop almost everyday I know what every key taste’s like! Over at Idealist Dream Object blog I’ve seen a mock up of a chocolate keyboard. Millions of chocolate fans I’m sure would get a kick out of crunching down on each key! It reminds me of a super sized Hershey Candy Bar.

I’m not sure if you can purchase it or if it exactly exist, but what an idea! Originally designed by Sholk.com who designs and make different concepts! Well done!

Ok, I was asked to review some good candy necklaces but there aren’t too many different types.

The original candy necklace is typically made with small tart candy with a retractable elastic string. These are fun to wear and eat at the same time. Warning, I learned as a teen, not to wear them when its extremely hot outside, because they do actually melt and get sticky around the neck

You can buy candy necklaces at any candy store around in the mall and they are relatively cheap $0.99 per one necklace and if you want a container of candy necklaces about 72 pieces (great for retro parties) it runs around $30.00.  Although, many people have fun making their own candy necklaces because it is really EASY.

The norm for Valentines day is to buy candy and it can be boring every year to receive a box of chocolates. However, the fun thing about candy is that it’s flexible.
