Do you know the origin of the Chupa Chups lollipops? First of all they are from Spain and after living there for 5 years, I’ve gotten to know the candy pretty well and they are YUMMY! In 1958, Xabier Bernart had a vision of the children in the period would relieve their hands of sticky candy so they wouldn’t get dirty. So he decided to insert a stick inside the candy. Now, we all are sucking on the envision of eating sticky free, based on a guy who wanted to keep things clean and fun :)

Right now there are 40 Chupa Chup flavors and varieties. Two years ago, I realized that Chupa Chup likes to have fun and made Chupa Chup relax lollipops for those who stress out.

Chupa Chups Flavors

  • Strawberry
  • Orange
  • Creme
  • Coffee (espresso, cappuccino and cafe mocha)
  • Blueberry

Just to name a few. The lollipops can be purchased at Amazon, Candy Crate, Ebay and almost any candy store online!

M&Ms Candy Recipe

// June 2nd, 2008 // No Comments » // Candy Recipes

Here are some good M&M Candy Recipes for those who do love chocolate.

m&ms candy recipe

M&M Biscotti

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cups M&M Chocolate Mini Baking Bits, divided
  • 1 cup slivered almonds, toasted (see note below)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets; set aside. In large bowl, combine the butter and sugar and mix together until light and fluffy; beat in the eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder and baking soda; blend into creamed mixture. This dough will be pretty stiff. Stir in 1 1/4 cups M&M baking bits and the nuts. Divide the dough in half. Add cocoa powder and coffee granules to one half of the dough, mixing to blend. On well-floured surface, gently knead dough together just enough to marble. Divide dough in half and gently roll each half into a 12-by-2-inch log. Place on prepared cookie sheets at least 4 inches apart. Press remaining 1/2 cup M&M baking bits onto outside of both logs. Bake 25 minutes. Dough will spread. Cool logs 15 to 20 minutes. Slice each log into 12 slices; arrange on cookie sheet cut-side down. Bake an additional 10 minutes. (For softer biscotti, omit second baking.) Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 24 pieces.

Note:  To toast almonds, spread in single layer on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes until light golden, stirring occasionally. Remove almonds from pan and cool completely before using.

candy necklaceOk, I was asked to review some good candy necklaces but there aren’t too many different types.

The original candy necklace is typically made with small tart candy with a retractable elastic string. These are fun to wear and eat at the same time. Warning, I learned as a teen, not to wear them when its extremely hot outside, because they do actually melt and get sticky around the neck :)

You can buy candy necklaces at any candy store around in the mall and they are relatively cheap $0.99 per one necklace and if you want a container of candy necklaces about 72 pieces (great for retro parties) it runs around $30.00.  Although, many people have fun making their own candy necklaces because it is really EASY.
