Candy Break Updated

After giving it a lot of thought, I decide to give my candy break a change of idea. Instead of going completely cold turkey, I’ve decided to eat candy once a week and my day is Tuesdays. So I will attempt to buy different candy and test it, then report back on the blog. Last week was the first week and I was happy to eat any candy so nothing new to show you.
Candy or Apple?

Well several reasons why right now I need to change from eating candy to an apple.
MY TOOTH IS ACHING… DAMNIT
I should make “the switch”, however I’m allergic to apples because of the citric acid. Unless it is cooked with LOTS of sugar I can eat it without my tongue itching.
BUT.. I should try to calm down a little bit with the sweets. I plan on going on a little candy break. Every year I take time to get away from eating candy so that I can break down my high level of eating. Last year I went 2 months without eating candy. This Spring, I’ll just let it ride without setting a date (probably not very intelligent).
What are my candy subsitutes?
- Sugarless gum
- Fruit (all that I’m NOT allergic to)
- More juice
- Nuts
As a candy addict, I know it will be hard the first week and a half but I can do it. I will still review candy so, come back and read up on my candy diet
UFO Fruit Gums Germany
// March 11th, 2008 // No Comments » // Eating Right Now
I’ve gotten stuck with work so I’m going to make this short. I actually just made a new category named “Eating Right Now”. I seriously eat candy everyday and because I’m in Europe right now there are all types of different brand names and types of candies that I should write about.
So that brings me to my first candy review in this section. Soon I think I’ll make some video reviews although, I’m not really into my voice.
Because I eat a lot of gummy candies, it should not surprise you that I’m writing a review now of a fruit gum brand name UFO (not unidentified flying object). The gummy candy is made in Germany.
The flavor taste more like wine gums but not as strong. they are in the shapes of fruits: orange, lemon, raspberry, pear, strawberry,
Honestly, they all taste the same so the shapes and food coloring are just for show. Anyway, I’m still eating them because they are eatable. The price I paid was really cheap around 0.60euros.
I can admit that I would buy them again but they aren’t my favorite.

Chocolate Critters
// February 14th, 2008 // 3 Comments » // Weird Candy
Today is Valentines Day and usually this day is filled with a lot of chocolate gifts candy! A hot chocolate candy over in Japan that is making noise over here are Chocolate Critters that are shaped into bugs and worms. I’m not sure if this is considered a sign of LOVE but if you’re in for a good laugh, then you should buy them. People have traveled in Japan by car over an hour just to buy the Chocolate Critters because they were sold out elsewhere.
On Valentines Day in Japan the big thing is chocolate however with a twist. Valentines Candy which are uncover as a fruit or non chocolate is actually filled with chocolate. Strawberries which are usually red, have the outside coating of a strawberry flavor but once you take that bite, theres nothing strawberry about it!
The reason behind all of this is that on Valentines Day in Japan, the tradition is for the woman to buy men a gift!! Continue Reading
